Making ISK in EVE Online in 2026: A Straightforward Guide for New and Returning Pilots

A lot of new pilots assume the good money in EVE is locked behind weeks of training or expensive ships, but that isn’t true. Some of the best early-income activities are fully accessible to beginners, including alphas. Gas mining and low-class wormhole ratting are perfect examples. Gas mining is fast...

Super Cute Corporation has been growing fast, and many of our new members (especially alpha clones) have the same question:
What’s the best way to make ISK right now without burning out?

EVE offers dozens of money-making paths, but the truth is that only a handful offer strong, consistent returns for casual players. Below is a simple breakdown of the most popular activities in 2026, what they pay, and who they’re best for. These numbers come from current community data and the recent experiences of our corp members.

1. Abyssal Deadspace (Advanced PvE)

Median: ~300M ISK/hr
Range: 180M to 550M+

Abyssals are high-risk, high-skill PvE arenas you run solo. T6 filaments are the peak of personal income in EVE, but they demand solid fits, quick reactions, and implants you can afford to lose.
This is endgame PvE.
Not recommended for alpha clones, but a great long-term goal for omegas.

Good for: Fast ISK, adrenaline, solo players
Avoid if: You’re new, low-SP, or don’t want sudden losses

2. Faction Warfare (One of the best ISK/hr for new players)

Median: 200–260M ISK/hr
Range: 90M to 450M

This activity is exploding in popularity because it pays incredibly well and is fun even for new pilots. You capture complexes in lowsec, get LP, and convert it to ISK. Income varies based on warzone tier and LP market but remains one of the strongest earners in EVE right now.

Why this is amazing for alphas:
• You can do it in a cheap T1 frigate.
• You learn real PvP.
• You grow fast because every fight teaches you something.

Good for: New players, alphas, small gangs, anyone who likes action
Avoid if: You hate PvP or lowsec

3. Incursions (Fleet PvE)

Median: 150–180M ISK/hr

These are large fleet operations that require joining public communities like WTM. Once you’re accepted, the income is steady and predictable. The only downside is waiting for fleets.

Good for: Players who want reliable income in a group
Avoid if: You prefer solo play or flexible schedules

4. Level 4 Mission Blitzing

Median: 120–170M ISK/hr

Marauders, Barghests, and Burner mission ships can earn strong ISK once optimized. Without a specialized setup, expect closer to 60–90M/hr.

Good for: PvE enjoyers, solo mission runners
Avoid if: You want action or don’t own a high-end PvE ship

5. Gas Mining (Lowsec, Nullsec, Wormholes)

Median: 80–140M ISK/hr

Gas is one of the best income sources for young players. Wormhole gas, especially C320, pays extremely well. Even alpha clones in Ventures can earn good ISK with a bit of caution.

Good for: Duos, explorers, alpha clones, low SP pilots
Avoid if: You dislike dodging hunters

6. Exploration (Nullsec & Wormholes)

Median: 60–100M ISK/hr, with jackpot spikes

Relic sites pay the most. Data sites, unless pirate faction, are usually not worth your time. Exploration is streaky, but when you hit good relics, you hit big.

Good for: Cloaky pilots, risk takers, travellers
Avoid if: You get frustrated by dry streaks

7. Nullsec Ratting

Median: 50–90M ISK/hr

This includes standard anomalies like Havens and Sanctums. It’s decent, but slower than the options above. Many veterans do it because it’s safe, not because it’s lucrative.

Good for: Omega characters in null alliances
Avoid if: You want fast ISK as a new player

8. Highsec Ice & Boosted Ore Mining

Median: 25–35M ISK/hr

Mining fleets with boosts are relaxing and steady, but the ISK is modest. Good background activity while chatting or doing chores.

Good for: Casual players, AFK-friendly
Avoid if: You want progression or excitement

9. Unboosted T2 Mining

Median: 15–22M ISK/hr
10. T1 Highsec Mining
Median: 2–4M ISK/hr

These are starter activities. Great for absolute beginners but not worth staying in long-term.
